Where does the name Areopagite come from? According to Webster's Dictionary it comes from Dionysius the Areopagite who lived in the 1st century who was a Greek Christian and is thought to have been the first Bishop of Athens. He has long been considered the author of influential theological works actually written c.e. 500.

The Areopagite was some Christian Philosopher in the 5th to 6th Century AD according to Wikipedia :D
